Insight Into a 4th Grader's Life of Colours

Colors of Grace

Brown is yummy chocolate chips melting off a cookie,

The damp soil filled with eggplants,

Or the thick trunk of a tall tree.

Blue is the sea, glistening in the sunlight,

Juicy blueberries about to be eaten

Or the sky, miles and miles above.

Green is leaves swaying in the wind,

Mint ice-cream, dripping from your lip,

Or small peas full of dreaded mush.

Yellow is honey, dripping down a hexagon,

The sweet scent of sunflowers,

Or cool lemonade flowing down to my stomach.

White is snow jumping down from clouds,

Unhealthy sugar frightfully attracting ants,

Or the pages of a childrens’ book rustling quietly.

Red is blood, dripping from a medium rare streak,

Your burning fingers lit from the bbq,

or smiling strawberries yearning to be eaten :)

Good idea for the Red colour since I didn’t write one for Red!
