On Tuesday, October 13th, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific, Apple held its "Hi, Speed" live event for releasing new products. Here’s a brief summary of the presentation, along with my personal opinions. It’s a perfect time to recharge some “Apple vibes” before their third event, “One more thing,” goes live on November 10th.
1. Homepod mini
Homepod mini is the new generation of Apple’s Homepod series, smaller than the original "toilet-roll" or "marshmallow" design, structured in a new spherical shape. It has touch controls on the top, Siri integration, and enhanced precision and connectivity.

(1) Five-Gee
5G; that’s the main keyword illustrating the new iPhone 12 models. The models are 5G compatible, with the collaboration between carrier services – typically Verizon – aiming for nationwide 5G network. But that only applies to the US market.
In Singapore, if you have the right model and a carrier service with 5G plans, you still can experience 5G network but within limited areas only.
(2) Cameras
Spotlights for cameras are at the iPhone 12 Pro series. In short, the camera functions of the 12 Pro series are significantly enhanced; recording in Dolby Vision HDR at 4K resolution is the main highlight of this model series. What this means is that it’s “Hollywood” compatible.
Additionally, the 12 Pro series has a new enhanced LiDAR sensor, enabling detailed night mode photos and stabilized augmented reality (AR).
(3) MagSafe
The iPhone 12 models have a "giant-round-magnet" on its back for magnet charging and additional accessories.
(4) For the ENVIRONMENT

Due to reasons relevant to “environmental destruction” and “carbon footprint,” Apple has removed both the charging brick and EarPods that used to be included in the basic package. Still, the charging cable isn’t eliminated. Thanks to this, the package boxes of the iPhone 12 models are slimmer.
But here’s the point. The charging cable included in the box is a USB-C to Lightning, meaning that it’s not the traditional charging cable (USB to Lightning). The charging brick in the package has changed since iPhone 11 to be USB-C compatible. Those who do not have the latest 11 model should buy a separate charging brick or a wireless charger. If you're brand new to the iPhone environment and do not have any source of sound output, you should also buy an extra pair of EarPods or AirPods.
Apple's aim to reduce its carbon footprint has resulted in new iPhone 12 users buying a separate charging source, leading to deliveries of two to three packages instead of one. Only Apple knows whether their plans were for the environment or their finance.
