Their bodies so frail, so breakable

but we watch in envy as they

turn, flex, further, higher, prettier

Maybe, if we could sap their youth and drink it

we could dance again

Gymnastics

Their bodies, crumbling, rusting, disfigured

Leaving behind dry flakes of old letters

The scribble drenched in memories, in time

The bodies continue their crawling march

Clawing, dragging, dancing

Before returning to dust once more

I pick up the old man, flip him back and forth a couple of times

I blow into his face, to no avail of removing the creases

I examine his face
