5 Things to Do During Social Distancing

Are you tired of binge-watching your favourite Netflix shows and lying in bed all day? The Coronavirus may have imprisoned us, but there are still so many ways you can be spending your time.

Here are 5 different ways you can be spending your time during this pandemic!

1. Exercise

Hear this out before you brush it off- – exercising at home is just as beneficial for your physical and mental health as exercising at the gym. You don’t even need any equipment. Try different ways to workout during these next few weeks (Yoga, HIIT, etc) to find a workout that is the best for you. There are many resources available. The UWC Dover PE site offers a wide range of ideas on what you can do, as well as many fitness apps that will guide you.

2. Organize

This is a perfect way for you to spend time. Whether it is colour-coordinating your wardrobe or rearranging your desk, you will feel so refreshed after doing this. Organizing your surroundings will keep your mind clear. Keep in mind that if you organize your closet and you find clothes you no longer wear, donate it!

3. Cook/Bake

Try to make a meal or snacks for your family. Search up a recipe you have always wanted to try, and perfect it during the next few weeks! Whether it is a chocolate chip cookie or a three-course meal, your family will be so grateful and you will learn a new skill.

4. Art

Grab a piece of paper and a pencil and start drawing. Go on Pinterest and find a few ideas that you would want to try. You need minimal equipment so this is a perfect way to spend your day.

5. Learn a new language

Learn a language other than your mother tongue. There are many apps that you can use to teach yourself, such as Duolingo.

Overall, there are many activities and experiences we will be able to gain because of social distancing. We can truly appreciate and understand the greatness of having the freedom to go out without worries. When this pandemic comes to an end, everyone will have gained new life skills that will be useful for them in the future.
